    A Grade
A Grade is our highest level of competition, designed for experienced players seeking a fast-paced and highly competitive environment. Games are played under full baseball rules and require a strong commitment to training and performance.

    • Baseball glove

During preseason, gloves may be borrowed from teammates if needed.

    The club provides:

    • Team helmets

    • Bats

    • Catcher’s gear

    Uniform Requirements
Senior players are required to wear:

    • White baseball pants

    • Club belt

    • Club socks (black socks if wearing ¾-length pants)

Personalised team jerseys can be purchased throughout the season.

  • Pirates Baseball Club is powered by the dedication of volunteers. Senior players are required to support the club throughout the season by assisting with:

    • Scoring

    • Umpiring

    • Canteen duties

    • Grounds and game-day setup

Volunteering helps keep our club running smoothly and strengthens our club culture — many hands make light work.

  • Moving into senior baseball — or joining a club for the first time — can feel daunting, but Pirates Baseball Club prides itself on being welcoming and supportive.

    If you’re:

    • Stepping up from juniors

    • Returning to baseball after time away

    • Completely new to the sport

C Grade (14+) is designed to help you learn the game, build confidence, and enjoy baseball in a supportive environment. Coaches and teammates are there to help, and the focus is on development and participation.

You don’t need to have all the gear or years of experience to get started — just a willingness to learn, be part of a team, and have fun.

If you’re unsure which grade is right for you, our coaches and committee are happy to help guide you.
